If utilities can build solar so cheaply, why are rates skyrocketing? Utility-oriented regulators tend to ignore the cost of delivering electrons to our homes. T&D spending has driven up the cost of electricity significantly whereas rooftop solar lowers these costs for everyone.

Rooftop solar significantly lowers peak demand on hot summer days, helping lower prices and stabilize the grid for everyone's benefit. This occurs whether the electricity is used onsite or by nearby neighbors.
