Maybe let's try winning this time.
Yup, totally makes him look worse. Even under the most generous interpretations Price either couldn't see how bad their strategy was at the time or failed to convince the others about a better course of action. Only gets worse from there.

I'm sure this was a factor and they faced pressure to support Israel, but ultimately Biden repeatedly refused to engage with the reality of the situation and his advisors did not or could not move him away from that immoral and non strategic stance to the detriment of us all. Makes it worse imo.

They're too worried about pissing trump off personally.

All she had to do was switch it around and it would have been a great talking point. People are worried about not being able to afford food and the president is building a ballroom.

I think it's simpler than that imo. The GOP is holding snap users hostage and believes the Dems won't want to let people starve.

My hope is that Platner learns from the pretty egregious display of poor judgement and goes out of his way to build trust and win back people he lost. Wouldn't be surprised if he doubles down and continues to degrade but we'll probably get more if the same. I still think he has a real chance to win.

I think it says a lot about our current political moment if Planter wins in the primary. It means that Trump's victory has degraded the standards people have and folks are fed up with the Dem's standard line. So it gives Platner a chance to make a comeback. What he'll do with that time will tell.

It also means that there's dissonance between some ideological factions of the left and the public. Having a Nazi tattoo not being seen as disqualifying for a lot of folks is revealing. Not sure that would be the case if folks didn't believe that Platner means what he says about why he's running.

It's also often wrong and an excuse to not do politics. It feels like when I see that kind of talk it's almost always about something that many normies do care about but the person doesn't want to engage with that fact because it would mean that their politics might be lacking mass appeal.

In some ways, it's actually a huge success that so many can partake in pretty complex discussions. Just feels bad that Internet clout, maliciously optimized algorithms, and various social dynamics turn participation in lefty online spaces into a combat sport with little stakes.

I think there is also a good deal of resentment from not being seen as cool, smart, or popular as compared to their more lefty counterparts in college etc.

Might not be worth it depending on your situation, but we got a countertop dishwasher and it's a game changer. You have to get one of the bigger ones imo but it's hands down the best apartment purchase I've ever made. Can get good deals on Facebook marketplace and the like.

There is a real lack of imagination. Folks are so stuck on a narrow band on what they believe politics should look like. It doesn't help that as some types of organizing have gotten more popular, people only have experienced certain types of movement work.
