And like I said in my other replies, the AI is only involved in like 1% of the creative process in the early stages. An artists real skills only start showing after.

I'm not going to argue for the big centers since I hate those too. But there's plenty of ways to run certain algorithms locally on your pc. At that point it's not really killing the planet anymore than just running an intensive game.

There were plenty of info sessions and debates while I was going to that school, so they're well aware of everything and they're not just using it to screw over artists or anything like that. There's plenty of bad about gnAI but I think the way it's used in this case is the best it could be used for

For some courses we were allowed to use genAI during the reference and ideation phase. For some particular settings it's harder to find reference or you have trouble fitting things together, so you could use the AI to help visualise it. It's just a tool to get the brain flowing really.

You're making it sound like they're forced it use it, which from how Sven worded it, it's entirely up to the artists choice.
