I think one of the things that I love the most is how realistic it is... not just how the protagonist and her cousin have to travel, but how almost every man in their orbit hits on them. Old, young, boss, step dad, etc.

Just watched the 2020 movie "Never Rarely Sometimes Always" - Amazing film about a teen who can't get an abortion in her area who has to travel out of state. Really moving and a good thing to show anyone who thinks that "State Rights" are more important than a woman's access to healthcare.

As a parent of three (two pre-pubescent), I found this article very useful.

It is the discussion many parents dread most – so how and when should this be brought up? Here are the best ways to broach it

It's frustrating to see so many MAGA people whine that people don't want to have Thanksgiving with them. That "we can disagree and still be friends." What they don't realize is that we don't WANT to be friends with bigots (or who support bigots). They offer nothing that I value in a relationship.

It's extremely concerning to me that so may people who have strong connections to Russia, including our president, are being put into positions of power.
Tulsi Gabbard’s history with Russia is even more concerning than you think
One expert says her views are ‘so wildly fringe that her potential appointment as DNI is genuinely alarming’, Richard Hall and Andrew Feinberg write

For my non-binary and trans friends suffering under oppressive governments or required to do the work themselves, check out HRTCafe - When a doctor or government won't help you transition, sometimes you have to just roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself.
HRT Cafe
HRTCafe.net, formerly DIYHRT.Cafe, is a website created to provide information for how to safely obtain DIY HRT for trans people who cannot access it via traditional means.

For the last few weeks, I've woken up immediately having an anxiety attack. It's rough feeling like you, and the people and things you care about, are about to be imminently in danger by the powerful and unstoppable government and social movements.

Anyone else having a rough time?

I'm writing a book about surviving the worst-case Trump presidency. Basically, how to survive a WW2-style fascist state that has modern surveillance technologies. It's entirely a product of my crippling anxiety. Ironically, publishing it would actually be dangerous if that ever came to pass.
