Spotted this #Rivian Space under construction in Central Walnut Creek today. Coincidentally it is opposite a Tesla show room, which was looking very sad as it has been the victim of vandalism recently. Of course it is Rivian that is bringing some civility back to Main Street.

It is such a privilege to fuel your car for free, but highlights the potential of EVs when charging from renewables. I added over 30kWh today at home exclusively powered by solar. Total cost for this charge, $0.0 - and this is true every day.

Driving over the Bay Bridge is the last place you want your #Rivian going into turtle 🐢 mode. I am going to guess the 12v battery is dying. Rivian are coming to collect the sick car now.

After updating my #Rivian R1S software yesterday, the car is now showing these two warnings. Given the unrelated nature and concurrent timing of the warnings, I suspect the 12v battery is failing, but Rivian service will have to confirm. There certainly is no liquid visibly leaking from the vehicle.

Mounting of the second solar array string completed today, completing the first phase of this build out. Next job is wiring.
