The ads "look, the Dems got us into this shutdown, and then they caved getting nothing"; those write themselves, too.

And truckloads of people who went out to vote blue last week, or who marched for hours during the "No Kings" day will look at these ads and think "no lie detected"

Because I fear: they will not get ANYTHING out of this compromise.

Maybe besides the House coming back, a new rep sworn in, and the 218th signature on that discharge petition.

Exactly. Voters don't have memory, and they live in information silos.

These silos will be subject to campaign ads next summer/fall.

And I fear that this vote can be easily used to blame the Democrats for the whole shutdown ... "they caused it and walked away due to pressure".

If there were any more R reps with a spine, why do they look the other way when it comes to signing the discharge petition?!

I believe "more R reps voting in favor" ... when I see it, not one second before it.
