Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation.

The Bernie Gunther novels by Phillip Kerr are exceptional crime thrillers. They get better and better.
They span the mid 1930s to Mid 1950s (so far. I’m on book 7) & are an extraordinary insight into how a country turns to fascism. Well worth a read.
