I'm pretty sure that type of yank never leaves the states.

This seems to be a common American opinion. Makes me wonder if they even have schools over there.

I believe they can appoint constables to enforce local byelaws. They can arrest only if they can't ascertain a suspects name and address, I think. The ones I'm thinking of went way beyond that though.

More than holding the line, the Battle of Britain was won and Germany had suffered its first land defeat in Africa before the yanks decided to get involved.

Is it illegal to dress up as security guards? I remember when a bunch of London councils dressed their staff up as police and called them Parks Police. Seemed wholly unlawful to me, but they were out there arresting people & nobody stopped them.

Prince Cathy, Princess Bill.

You won't be pleased to hear then that I refer to her and her husband exclusively as Bill and Cathy.

Not even just the elderly. A lad I knew had both hips replaced when he was about 25.

You're not wrong, but I also have to admit I'm not totally over getting a ticket for going right out of a no right turn in an empty car park late at night that I'd pulled into because my baby was crying. Yeah I should have gone all the way around but I was the only car there & I'm still bitter!! lol

Every time this comes up, somebody tells me that this has been a woman's problem for years - well it's been a man's problem forever too. It's a problem with all clothing and has been as long as I've been alive - even as a kid I wore clothes apparently sized for kids much older than me.

Have to be honest, I read the whole speech yesterday while I was waiting for my court hearing to be called on. It didn't strike me as a call to insurrection. He seemed simply to be whinging like a baby. Probably lost a lot of context being read in my head versus spoken live though.

Do you know why they chose Florida? The BBC isn't based there, the programme wasn't broadcast there. Is it simply because that's where his Mar-a-largo golf course is?

If they did successfully sue in Florida, could they enforce any judgment? I *vaguely* remember brushing over this at bar school

I once bought four pairs of shorts from Next and all of them were different sizes despite claiming to be the same size.

It's almost as if shops and manufacturers are just making up their sizes with no reference to reality whatsoever.
