Australia’s leading universities have tumbled down in world rankings, with some recording their worst result in annual standings.
The latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings showed the University of Melbourne was the top institution in Australia, coming in 39th place.

It’s almost as if when you underfund and over-regulate an industry for a decade it suffers a decline in quality…
I almost scrolled past this. Almost. But it's an incredible photograph - a planetary system in the process of forming. 30 years ago we were still trying to workout if there were planets around other stars.
