I added this "Combat game speed" option as an Accessibility feature, and now I always play using it. All combats now feel like Matrix. Basically, think of Celeste "game speed", but only during combats.

There's quite a lot of different things to do in Tenjutsu:
- Open stalls to buy delicious onigiri in Tako Food Co districts,
- Unlock hidden key safes in Iron Syndicate controlled areas,
- Re-open and plunder Neon Dragons jewelries, and pretend that all the shiny things were yours from the beginning

One tiny underestimated feature I love in Firefox is the native ability to pop-out videos over your desktop apps. Great when waiting for compiling times

I wrote a second devlog about to tell how and when the Tenjutsu transitioned from being a linear score-based beat 'em up to open-world rogue.
And I also made available for free the last playable build of that beat 'em up version from 2023 :) deepnight.net/blog/tenjuts...

Thank you! I do 2 things actually: build all wall angles from the front facing texture, and I displace/extrude pixels in these textures using a second "depth map" texture that gives a bit of depth to lateral views. You can see the generated atlas by pressing F1 while the game is focused

A few years ago, I worked on a tech prototype for a traditional 2D gridder game (think Dungeon Master). No 3D involved, pure old-school approach. I'm quite sad that the market for this type of game is so small, I would still love to work on one, one day (demo link: deepnight.net/games/dungeo...)
