This holiday weekend called for one of my “Uncle Larry” wines, because he loved to read about the U.S. Presidents. 2004 Carinae Prestige (Argentina). Deep color, very little pelure d’oignon; tamarind, but not the acid (or tannin). Rich plum fruit, medium to full body; surprisingly short finish.

Absurdity of human folly in two events relevant today: what a strange change wrought in only a few days between Palm Sunday and Good Friday. And, a fave quote from Samuel Beckett (b. 1906), “A bright light is not necessary, a taper is all one needs to live in strangeness, if it faithfully burns.”
