As I am back to writing about the Compostelan cult of Saint James the Elder, here's one of many late-medieval examples of how far afield the pilgrim iconography caught on.

Confession: since Trader Joe’s began carrying bresaola [again], pizza Fridays have become piadina Fridays with stracciatella and arugula. And, this week I “made” my own stracciatella o_O

This holiday weekend called for one of my “Uncle Larry” wines, because he loved to read about the U.S. Presidents. 2004 Carinae Prestige (Argentina). Deep color, very little pelure d’oignon; tamarind, but not the acid (or tannin). Rich plum fruit, medium to full body; surprisingly short finish.
