aboud's heart is broken, and so is mine. how do you recover from so much loss? how do you try to rebuild your life and heal after the violence and cruelty you have faced? especially when palestine is still not free?

aboud managed to survive and get back to his parents and siblings, who are also still alive. but when they made it back to their village, they were faced by the complete obliteration of their neighborhood. their house, their neighbor's houses - all bombed to rubble

can you imagine thinking that some sense of safety is so close - not a full sense of safety, not while palestine is still under israeli occupation and apartheid, but SOME relief - and then being killed by this brutality? can you imagine losing your friends to it on a day that should be happy?

he & his friends were trying to make it back to their village, where they were displaced from over a year ago because israel destroyed it.
