Not surprised that a police officer would say that, but am very disheartened that the news outlet chose to include that and highlight it. I commented on their post pushing back on that mindset. We’ll see if they respond. So infuriating.

it doesn’t have to be like this, but it will be if you cannot think beyond government as it once looked. we were lucky to be born into a unique time when public health grew like never before in history—so few humans knew less disease—but that unique time may be over if we do nothing else to stop it.
we cannot just put all our eggs in one basket (💉) & then act like there’s no recourse when the ethos of vaccination is with the intention—supposedly—of preventing disease. yea vax hesitancy sucks, it’s going to take some serious work to reverse, so we MUST prevent disease other ways while it’s done.
i wish i didn’t feel the need to ask these questions but often y’all are giving a lot of oh no we tried next to nothing and we’re all out of ideas! meanwhile there are dozens of us trying to work on this existential challenge getting very little assistance when it is, ultimately, a group project.
