But the author is so hung up on black and white political history he's deep into his own, separate conversation, rather than engaging with the movie he's watching. I mean, Benicio's the heart of the film, maybe the most important character, and he's not mentioned at all.

Like, a significant part of the film is to do with the mess of individuality among the insurgency and the ruling class. The franticness of the white protagonist being thrown into immediate, at-need action contrasted with the level headed hispanic sensei who is managing ten times the burden

Penn is doing excellent work here and the limp is a very real life observation; so so many senior military men are impaired when walking. But this blog reduces the entirety of his character to a pimp walk, as he does the same with not being amused at the secret society's acronym.

I liked the movie a lot, and this blog is a good read, but it suffers from the author not willing to take the movie on its own terms and critique it for what it is. A prime example of which is dismissively misunderstanding Penn's character's limp as a "pimp walk."
