Gloom and doom scrolling today reached a tipping point, and I reminded myself that we are so lucky here in #auspol with no gestapos in the street or lunatics at the helm. That doesn't mean we shouldn't strive against our own leadership failings, just that we should count our blessings periodically.

Gough utters a universal truth here but we need to bet on Morality. The self-interests with corporate money will only drag the nation down. We only rise through integrity and transparency and unless our politics expresses this moral backbone, greed will trump virtue. Vote #independents #auspol

The rifts have blown up into chasms in the #Coalition as we see just how far right they have turned. Gough's words seem like a prophecy. Fortunately we don't have to worry about them for a few years, except how to keep them in the wilderness, as the 50s retreat further into history. #auspol

We want leaders with vision and courage, #albo - not tinkerers. You could learn many lessons from the #independents Always speak the truth and advocate for the most needy. Go after the corporate parasites bleeding the country and make everyone pay their share. Give us a genuine fair go. #auspol

I've not seen stats for Oz, but you only have to look at primary votes in the election to see our waning trust in politics: ALP 34.62%, Coalition 32.05 and 'Other' got the rest. Indies got 7.36 with a swing slightly larger than the ALP. A sure sign our democratic model is changing. #auspol
