“Vaxx and relax” was never a good strategy for Covid.

The vaccines are great at keeping people out of hospital, but they don’t stop transmission and they don’t prevent Long Covid.

Those of us who know this never stopped masking.

With the US restricting vaccines, it’s time to mask back up!

New study shows that COVID may damage your immune system for a year post infection.

This is the problem with ignoring a pandemic in favour of a “you do you” approach.

There’s so much Covid that most people get it at least once per year. Their immune systems don’t have time to recover
COVID-19 may put patients at risk for other infections for at least 1 year

This is the best piece of reporting I’ve seen so far on what is going on at IMLS. I encourage everyone who cares about the key role that libraries and museums play in the United States to read it. news.artnet.com/art-world/do...

This is the email just received by IMLS staffers placing them on paid administrative leave for up to 90 days.

“Please understand that this action is not punitive but rather is taken to facilitate the work and operations of the agency.”

SCOOP: DOGE notified the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS) today that the entire staff is being put on administrative leave effective immediately, I’ve learned from an agency source.

They’ll be cancelling huge swaths of grants/contracts and starting a Reduction in Force (RIF).

If you’re researching or treating people with Long Covid, you need to be wearing a mask. Ideally an N95 or better.

Optics matter. If you can’t do this simple thing to ensure your patients don’t get infected again with the virus that disabled them, they won’t feel safe in your care.

There are measles outbreaks in the U.S. & Canada. A disease we eradicated is making a comeback due to dangerous anti-vaxx rhetoric

We need mandatory masking in healthcare

A respirator protects against Covid, measles & more

There’s no excuse to expose patients when we have the tools to prevent it:
A Plea to Maskless Healthcare Workers from Vulnerable Patients
If you see a mask - wear a mask. Better yet - wear a mask all the time and show us you understand that we're still IN a pandemic. We are depending on you to keep us safe - please don't betray that.

Disabled patients have a right to safe healthcare.

When we ask staff to mask, we aren’t “entitled”. We’re advocating for our lives. We’re trying to protect our baseline. We’re asking for the respect we deserve.

We can’t “just stay home” from the hospital. Masks should be mandatory.

Like so many others, I quit the twit. Although, I wasn't hardly on there at all. I might have had an account from library school. I am more of an old school blogger from the cheese sandwich days of food blogging.
