The Pacific ocean's waves today we're like a washing machine. Fun to watch. Glad I was on land. Half of this stairway is under feet of sand and water. Last one is me caught photographing the Pacific ocean in Northern California today

We came across a pair of Common Murres. One was dead and the other didn't want to leave the beach and stayed nearby. As Common Murres do not mate for life can anyone help me understand this behavior?

I was deeply saddened to lose this beautiful Great Horned Owl. It was healthy, and Ice heard the owls at night for years. I believe it ate a poisoned mouse or rat😪

In crimson, orange and bronze, autumn had arrived.
Fox had spent a rather enjoyable morning searching for the perfect collection of leaves.
She'd finally found it.
With a joyful soul and playful heart, she jumped.
In one fine leap, she pounced to catch her shadow.

I think I may have mentioned that we have a new animal resident, a red breasted hawk. Looking forward to him eating more of the mice and rats we have living our canyon. Such a beauty, and very vocal recently
