Trump’s Tax Scam makes ICE the largest federal law enforcement agency in the history of the republic. To put that in perspective, here are the sizes of other federal law enforcement agencies:

No Kings Day was one of the largest days of protest in US history. From deep red small towns to our largest cities, millions of people turned out to make it clear that the American people will not bow to fascism. #NoKings

With the debunked claims about fraud in social security, Trump is laying the ground work to cut social security benefits. Watch this space as Rachel Maddow says.
Trump’s speech last night sounded more like reality TV than reality.

Fact: there aren’t millions of people over 100 years of age fraudulently claiming social security benefits.

President Trump called for an end to people hundreds of years old collecting Social Security benefits — a claim his own administration has debunked.

“Thank you again. Thank you again,” he says to John Roberts. Then he awkwardly slaps him on the shoulder and says, “Won’t forget it.” The moment has an almost classic mob boss feel to it in context.

It wasn’t necessary to watch all of Trump’s speech last night to understand where we are as a country.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin delivered a very solid & pointed Democratic response to Trump’s speech focusing on key issues Americans care about — the economy and their families’ well being. Her message is short and worth listening to. She ends with an admonition to Democrats — don’t retreat, don’t give in.

I watched all 100 minutes of Trump’s speech last night. He boldly repeated lies about his “unprecedented” mandate, Musk and Doge’s savings, Social Security fraud, the benefits of tariffs, & funding for Ukraine.

Democrats need to flood the zone with ads and counter messaging now, not later.

@senmaggiehassan.bsky.social please copy X posts to Bluesky. Many of your constituents are rightly boycotting X (former Twitter) due to Musk’s dismantling of federal government and cruel treatment of dedicated civil servants.

We need your voice in this space.

This language describes a coup. You have to be a government employee, subject to the rules & procedures that bind gov employees, to do this kind of work. This is a blatant abuse of the public trust by the Trump administration, a true 5-alarm fire. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

Thanks. This clarifies nothing.

Excellent article showing why the Trump election win is and was not a "landslide" or a "rout". The narrative of "an unprecedented win" has to be countered and rewritten.
"Repeat after me: there was no 'landslide'. There was no 'blowout'. There was no 'sweeping' mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers don’t lie."

My new Guardian op-ed on the new GOP election lie - and why it's important to rebut it! I brought (lots of) receipts:
Donald Trump didn’t win by a historic landslide. It’s time to nip that lie in the bud | Mehdi Hasan
In 2024, we have a new post-election lie – Trump didn’t just win, Republicans say, but he won big. He won a landslide. That’s false
