I do wish more would understand the value of Medicaid and empathy and care when it didn’t affect them personally, but I’m truly glad for anyone who has seen the truth and are here now.

Abelism, sorting out the “deserving” from the “undeserving” sick poor, and a belief that many sick people have committed some act to deserve their fate… these are longstanding beliefs which are in many ways still at the center of the US therapeutic system.
