I love genealogy, plants, beach walks and life. I'm a big believer in happiness research and other science-backed ways of making life better.
2/2 ...but it within a few minutes she was 'flossing' which nearly drove me to hysterics! 😭 I genuinely had to fight to control my laughter. The surreality! And spotting a celebrity in the place was a mere blob of icing, not the cherry on the top. What a day! 😂♥️♥️♥️

Oh, that's sad. I loved Two Caravans, by her.

I enjoyed it and totally agree with Dr Wanda about the detailed Devon records. They're a treat to use. 😊

That's because it is. An important moment for all of your family, I'm sure. I hope dad settles in very quickly. I have fond, grateful memories of a couple of the staff who cared for my mother.

Oh, what miraculous joy! 🥰 A very happy birthday to your son. 🍻

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit a few years ago.

Wow! 😊

There may be one in progress. I may need to volunteer to help, in order to get results that way. Meanwhile, I'm trying to use DNA to solve the problem and have made some headway this afternoon. Partly thanks to the free webinar with Diahan Southard yesterday evening. 👍😊@yourdnaguide.bsky.social

It was from the very early days, when I didn't have access to as many parish records as I have now. I need to see a particular parish register, but it's about two hundred miles away!

Recognising a possible mistake - a huge one! 🤣

How wonderfully heartwarming! 😊

Thank you. My parents met while serving in the army on radar duty. They used to talk about the aircraft flying overhead. They were fortunate and so, here I am.

My husband and family went there for a concert, to celebrate his sixtieth birthday. We didn't encounter the mysterious lights on that occasion. By the way, is the surname Oriel a variant of Ariell? One of my blacksmith ancestors had an apprentice of that name, in Aldgate.

That figures. I'm always surprised to see links to both halves of the tree because my parents met in the army in WWII and almost wouldn't have met at all, without it.

I'm really looking forward to exploring this. Thank you! 😊

I'll take your word for it. 👍🏻😁

Yes. I note that the parish registers transcripts available from Parish Chest use the more recent iteration: 😁https://www.parishchest.com/shillington-parish-registers-download-11540.php

It is a really great piece. Clearly, the Forest is a quite different locale with a very different story from that of my own ancestors' Flintshire lives close to the Dee estuary.

I think I've come across this before and sure enough, there's Shillington (or something!) on the map.
