Experimenting with P5R’s battle cutscenes + event scripting, almost everything shown here is powered by that combo.
Most existing battle cutscenes aren’t easily reusable on enemies and need to be rebuilt piece by piece.

New update for the P5R Custom Bonus Tweaks mod is out, while I wanted this update to have a bit more testing, it does contain some bugfixes/features that are vital for some folks.

That said, this update contains a new EXPERIMENTAL feature of disabling Game Over on Joker dying!

New update out for the P5R Custom Bonus Tweaks mod!

This update was entirely focused on converting all of the pre-rendered movie events into fully in-engine variants so that character swap mods have better compatibility with the game itself!

Weirdly interesting fact, In Persona 5 (and Royal), the first part of Shadow Madarame’s boss intro—where he laughs and transforms—is a pre-rendered cutscene.

But if you remove the movie play command, the real-time scene still plays underneath, but the face being deformed is now gone.

Now that ShadPS4 (mostly) properly supports the Persona Dancing games, I'll take a short break from working on the Metaphor mod to make a (hopefully quick to finish) mod to integrate Persona 3 Dancing songs into Persona 5 Dancing (and a few extras!)

More progress on the Metaphor ReFantazio mod to have dlc outfits work outside of battle.

More testing is needed, but assuming nothing breaks horribly, what's left now is making a reimported copy of every dlc model (yikes) to add the character weapons to them as these are used in events and such.

I guess I should post some of my mods so folks who haven't followed me have an idea of the range of things I do.

Here's one such mod for Persona 5 Royal, "Custom Bonus Tweaks".

Essentially a massive enhancement mod with features for both modders and mod users alike!

For some strange reason, specifically only for the protagonist, and only in the "free roam mode", the game refuses to properly load the texture pack for the model and always uses a cached one, but in stuff like events it works completely fine, going to have to work around this in the mod somehow.

However, if you change Commander's weapon model with that of a Rapier, suddenly the animations and pierce element make a whole lot more sense, leading one to the conclusion that Rapier-type weapons must've been Commander's original weapon of choice and then later changed late in development. (2/2)

While playing Metaphor ReFantazio, some might have noticed how Commander's attack animation and element don't seemingly make sense with the weapons that it uses.

The attacks make stabbing motions and have the pierce element, but it does not correctly match some weapon models! (1/2)

Enemy affinities added to the Metaphor ReFantazio datamine spreadsheet.

Fun fact, while the game makes it a point to tell you that Goborn type enemies are particularly susceptible to Poison and Sleep ailments, this actually applies to almost every ailment and not just those two in specific!

I also sometimes post mod stuff for other series like Zelda or Fire Emblem.

I also usually post datamined info every new Fire Emblem game release (but give people a way to avoid it).

I would also like to get back to posting "fun facts" about how things work in a game "behind the scenes".
