Trump seems to be helping the Canadian economy, the U.S. economy, not so much

Donald Trump may not be very good for the U.S. economy, but he sure seems to be helping Canada.

I realize that most Republicans seem to have caught Trump's dementia, but they all ridiculed Obama's request for $200 million to resod the mall back in 2009. Are they now going to hand Trump $2 billion to make Washington "beautiful?"

I trust Brown's administration knows that Judge Bove says this clause is meaningless. Also, as a practical matter, under this agreement Trump is totally within his rights to have any whack job group initiate a suit against Brown.

A serious newspaper calls these "ALLEGED antisemitism concerns." There is zero reason to believe the Trump administration gives a damn about antisemitism.

Can the NYT hire some serious reporters?
No countries are EXPECTED to pay tariffs. A reporter should be fired for writing that. Trump is saying the taxes we will impose on our imports from these countries. WE PAY, not them.

NYT completely f**ks up the Social Security tax cut story. Contrary to what they tell you, the Republican bill did ZERO for low-income seniors. They were already not paying taxes on their Social Security,

NYT continues efforts to minimize the size of anti-Trump protests. What sort of jerk would compare anti-war protests planned with a few hours notice with No Kings protests planned for months?

Here's the headline at the top right of the NYT homepage. I guess they might need a "never mind" follow-up.

Why can't Washington Post reporters learn journalism?

www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
This article tells us what the Justice Department "thinks." The reporter has no idea what the Justice Department thinks (does a department think?). It knows what it SAYS, just report it that way.

This is kind of incredible, we both have Trump admitted that he awards government contracts as personal favors and acknowledging that Biden didn't.

In a real newspaper the headline would say the Trump administration "claims" not "finds"

WaPo needs competent headline writers who read the pieces
www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec... The judge's criticism wasn't for the dismissal of charges, it was for bringing charges before the prosecutor was prepared to make the case.

It looks like Trump is continuing his war on breakfast. Coffee prices are near an all-time high and egg prices are again inching higher.
May 12, 2025 at 11:46 AM
Trump's dementia is really taking over. He says he doesn't know if he is required to uphold the Constitution www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202... Here's the oath he took for the second time less than four months ago.
May 4, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Another lesson on reporting for the NYT: their reporter do not KNOW what is in "the eyes" of Republicans. They know what comes out of their mouths.

In his war on breakfast, Trump's progress seems to have stalled on the egg front, with prices up more than 60% from year ago levels, but he looks to be making renewed progress on the coffee front.
April 29, 2025 at 12:36 PM
In Trump's war on breakfast, there seems to be a truce on the egg front with prices 30 percent higher than a year ago, but he's moving aggressively on coffee prices.
April 25, 2025 at 12:08 PM
In Trump's War on Breakfast, he continues to hold steady on the eggs front, at roughly 30 percent higher than the year-ago price, but he is pushing aggressively on the coffee front.

Basic economics for Donald Trump and his advisers: Factory construction had an unprecedented boom under Biden.
April 6, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Harry Enten gets the story on Trump's import taxes (tariffs) exactly right, but he gets the story on wages under Biden badly wrong. Adjusting for inflation, they were almost 4% higher In January, 2025 than before the pandemic. www.cnn.com/2025/03/28/b...
March 29, 2025 at 2:02 AM
Can NYT headline writers learn basic journalism? They don't know what Trump's taxes on imported cars are "intended" to do. They just know what Trump says.
