If true, that's so fucked up right? I'm pretty sure it's true though.

The reason why they didn't make more Xbox's this gen is because they had to make a specific margin out of the whole games business unit. And because they lose money on every xbox they sell, they could only afford to sell so many boxes and still give themselves a shot at meeting their margin goal.

I also think a truly bold strategy would be to burn the ships behind them and NOT make another console next generation. I have good reason to think that the fact they undersold Xbox's this generation is not lack of demand but actually lack of supply. The reason why is this...

Personally, I find what MSFT has aggregated to be a real life example of business katamari. Sure it's big and has bits of everything known to games but wtf is it? A difference between MSFT as it is now and Embracer will be if Phil Spencer actually has a plan for what to do with all of these "bits"
