Why can’t we do a virtual conference? We did so during the height of Covid. Many organizations continue to host hybrid or fully online conferences.

Are they saying that? I’m not a DoE policy expert but state schools are subject to the jurisdiction of state depts of ed. DoE doesn’t oversee curriculums, for example.

The pentagon were not able to complete their last six audits and can’t account for 63% of its $4 trillion in assets. Congress keeps giving pentagon more money than they ask for. A lot of our social issues require just a fraction of this money.

As for spending- before we do anything to cut international aid, my vote is to tax billionaires, cut military and police funding, and demand the pentagon do a better job of accounting for every cent.

I’m really sorry to read this. I saw somewhere that this pause could be as short as 1 day- as long as agencies confirm they’re in compliance (with what precisely is unclear). I hope this is a very brief hiccup.
