Oh, we really need an Alan Ormsby before October runs out :)

As a kid, this was neck and neck with Godzooky for my fanboy hatred.

According to Archie Goodwin (among others)...

Hell yes, for this and so many other reasons 🥰 👇

So glad to hear you enjoyed it! One of the many reasons I had a good time watching it was simply the color pallet. I was so damn tired of seeing the reds, blues and yellows of Supes costume cranked down like the color knob on an old Zenith TV.

Yeah, we can blame that shit on Erik Larsen. 😑

Same. I've loved Firestorm since picking up the first issue off the spinner rack in '78. He's got one of those costumes that just walks the line between insanely awesome and tacky as Hell (much like one of my OTHER favorite outfits, Simonson's Manhunter)

The perfect combination of evil and adorable. 🥰

I LOVE Cho's work! His Avengers Masterworks covers are spectacular as well.

Greatest costume re-design in comic history IMHO

...but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be either of these guys...

I've always loved red-wing blackbirds...just a gorgeous color scheme 👍

Same. Growing up in the 70's it was Andru on Spidey and Aparo on Batman...gorgeous work from two giants who don't get the love they're due.

Rom and his companions are solid choices as well, I used to love that book! Never before have such epic stories been created in service of such a lame toy 🤣🤣🤣

Comic based trinity you say?

Hmmmm 🤔

Ross Andru was my Spider-Man artist growing up in the 70's, and I still don't think he gets the respect he's due...the man made Spidey's moves come alive!

This was the Supergirl outfit I remember as a kid 😁 The sheer seventies-ness is just delightful.

The artist is Kerry Callen, and it was this pic that clued me in to the utterly bizarre fact that Marvel tried to get a Daredevil/Black Widow show off the ground in the 70's...with Angela Bowie (David's wife) as Natasha 😲

Funny you'd say that, because your inking work always reminded me of Anderson's (that's meant to be high praise, I love his pencils AND inks). Always wondered if Supes felt bad that his best friend was cheering on the competition 🤔

Always loved that cover. It's rare to see a comic cover made up of nearly all secondary colors (purple, green and orange)...very striking. Beautiful work Jerry 👍

I get it, I'm the same way with Thor. I've loved Iron Man ever since I was a kid, growing up with the sixties cartoon helped 😁. He had the second best theme song (nothing tops Spidey), and the always wonderful John Vernon doing his voice.
