My new least favorite cop-out is people saying "oh, this widely used phrase is actually shorthand for something entirely unrelated"

Like, imagine if I claimed ACAB was slang for how awful firefighters are even tho "cop" is literally in the acronym.

Team Fortress 2 Classic (2014): Despite being a fan-made mod, it's preferable in many ways to the original. It rolls back a lot of the most questionable weapons and cosmetic changes. Some additions are iffy, but it's still a net positive.

Also custom weapon servers are insane.

Been going through something like this except with books

(also as far as games go, the 'bag of milk' duology is way more of a red flag than any of these games lol)

Metaphor Refantazio (2024)

Oh boy, this is gonna be a long one. Let's lead off with the mechanics, since that's where I know the most. In essence, the global combat changes are good, the player-side changes related to customization are frustrating.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World (2010)

I put this film off for ages because of its adjacency to Reddit. Despite that, there's plenty of stuff I liked. It takes its status as a campy graphic novel adaptation and runs with it. Its editing is honestly even more insane than Speed Racer.

Spider-Man 2 (2023): I hate to lead with such a downer, but it's hard not to linger on the calcification of both SIE and Marvel. Almost every downside (from the micro-aggression that is the Adidas skin to the larger pacing issues) can be traced back to its production time and budget...

I'm watching Feeble King's response video to Gred Glinstone's response video to Joseph Anderson's follow-up video to LupineO's and JM's response videos to Joseph Anderson's original video on Elden Ring.

We've gone so astray that they're debating Nietzsche.
