I’m a firm believer in this. I bemoan it whenever I encounter someone who’ve worked hard to get rid of their accent. It’s as much of them as their myriad idiosyncrasies.

I write, mostly short stories, but I haven’t really played the publishing game in a decade. I write what I want and enjoy the process, so I’m not trying to reconnect to get you to read anything—or anything like that. I’m just looking for conversations about literature.

I co-edited that issue with Sands. I still have one copy left. I think my Velvet handle was RevGroucho, but I’m not 100% on that. It’s been a long time. I loved that message board.

We used to talk regularly online. We met on Baer’s message board and you gave me a story for a journal I co-edited, Bust Down the Door and Eat all the Chicken. It’s been many years and I wanted to reach out reconnect because I always enjoyed our conversations.
