This weird girl and her habit of burying her face in my hands or arms when she sleeps—she makes me feel loved.

I’m on book 6 of In Search of Lost Time. This is the shortest volume—at 301 pages—so I expect to finish it Thursday or Friday. These last two volumes have fucked me up, and I’ve spent a lot of of time reflecting on my terrible behavior and the selfish, shitty things I’ve done to people in the past.

It’s a damn shame Flamingos Forever wasn’t produced. But its mere existence is a testament to the weird optimism of John Waters: to think he wrote this in good faith, hoping a major studio in the 80s would produce it, is wild. It’s an incredibly fun read, and both are highly recommended.

I’m still working my way through Crime and Punishment, but I did finish Pussy, King of the Pirates, so now I’m on to this. In addition, I’m slowly making my way through a short story collection.
