Just beat Expedition 33. The music is awesome and the game is lots of fun! Never played a RPG like this, but it was totally worth it. #monami #ps5

Just finished reading #Abundance by Ezra Klein and
@dkthomp.bsky.social . Well worth it! The authors sum up the book well in the first chapter: "This book is dedicated to a simple idea: to have the future we want, we need to build and invent more of what we need." #booksky

Afreeza is a form of inhaled #insulin I use, in addition to normal insulin in my insulin pump. It’s super fast acting ( starts working in 30 minutes ) and i think it’s great. Today i decided to look up its full cost in cvs… 😅😅😅

Just learned this today, during a state of emergency pharmacists can use professional judgement to refill a perscription without a prescribers auth. Hopefully useful for people affected by the fires who lost access to medication. #T1D #diabetes #cafire

Really interesting video on how "glucose sensing" insulin works. Basically there is a synthetic lectin attached to the insulin molecule that will bind to glucose in the body, and when there is not enough, will bind to the insulin molecule itself. #T1D #Biology 🧬 🧪

#SD2 is such an incredible resource in San Diego. Every person in this photo has spent a year mentoring a young person (HS or College) to support their journey in STEM. My mentee last year is now off at #Cal and I am so proud of him! sd2.org

I have been experimenting with logging afreeza (inhalable insulin) in #loop (open source app that helps automate my insulin dosing through my insulin pump). As far as i’m aware, loop is the only lago that lets u log afreeza, and it seems to be working well 👍 #t1d #diabetes #closedloop

Got to see Tandem Diabetes Care’s new #mobi insulin pump in person for the first time. I like how it will integrate with some of the newer sensors from #dexcom and #abbott, and the smaller form factor is cool. Unfortunately I think the software is far behind open source loop dddiaz.com/post/loop/

Interesting study about metformin. All these diabetes drugs (metformin, liraglutide, semaglutide ) turning out to be miracle drugs, the question I still have is why. covid19.nih.gov/news-and-sto...

Just finished reading Don Quixote! For a book written in 1605, I am shocked by how many times I caught myself laughing out loud! 🤣 Great read, and I took away a message of living life on your own terms.

Just finished "The Genome Odyssey" by Dr. Euan Ashley. It is an incredible reminder of what "Unlocking the power of the human genome to improve human health" actually means to the people who are afflicted with rare diseases. Excited for the future of precision medicine that genomics unlocks.
