This issue with Davinci is one of the biggest blockers to switching, and the fact a few of the animation software I use are lacking Linux versions. If that gets resolved, I want to jump.

True! People are using it more and more all the time. For me, practically everything I had issues with have been fixed, though there is one showstopper: DaVinci Resolve’s free version won’t do h.264 or h.265 in Linux, even if system libraries for it are installed. Gonna have to pay my dues sometime.
