what do you call the job rejection emails that people add little custom bits to like "your experience on __ & ___ fits well but we found better candidates!" to find out that the ppl who got the gigs have 10+ years of experience and applied for junior roles? bc I gotta say it's getting wild out here

looking for a job right now is such a trip, and just echoing how generally absurd a job search is (and has been) in the middle of a million crises feels like it brings out the people who are rested and ready to argue about why it's actually fine if masses of people perish

I'm half-Egyptian, a country with an infamous history of randomly disappearing political dissidents, artists, and influencers into infamous black sites and prisons, and I am telling you right now that what is happening in the US feels horrifyingly familiar. You should not go if you can avoid it.
Today my partner and I cancelled our GDC plans.
It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but between reduced air safety, increased border control detainments, and escalating tensions between the US and Canada, travelling to the US for a games conference (especially from Canada) doesn't seem worth it.
