I think DFW would be surprised and a little mortified to see his name in a list of Literature alongside Kafka, Melville, Heller and Dickens. But he would understand instinctively that an article was being written about elected officials being put in charge of eliminating the functions of government

I fail to understand the appeal of leading an article like this with an 'artist's conception' of an Amazing Space Thing when a real image from an instrument exists. It's the latter that inspires awe, I mean look at that thing

I fail to understand the appeal of leading an article like this with an 'artist's conception' of an Amazing Space Thing when a real image from an instrument exists. It's the latter that inspires awe, I mean look at that thing
