Another big comeback, this time a 23-11 Q4 to beat Villanova by 5 after 3 Qs of shooting poorly and leaving the back door open. Fadima Tall w/ tough D & calm FTs gets the game ball. Leagues no longer mean much, but it's big that Pton starts w/ Ws over ACC & B.East. Next: Big 10's #9 Maryland.

Based on Trump's own example, it seems like Clinton (and probably Harris too) should sue the NYT for, say, a billion dollars.

Or, in this case, "rotten orange" (even though so far it's been Too Little Ado about Something).

Still too many fouls & TOs, but a W & a nearly start-to-finish lead is a big improvement. Dalen Davis is back. Interesting also to see beefy Malik Abdullahi shooting from outside. If he can get reliable there, that would give us solid 3pt shooting in all 5 starters, which could solve some probs.

I see the replies noting that this basic morality is rooted in European history, the Bible, etc. But it's also rooted in boring 20th century *American* political philosophy.

20/ The purpose of government is not to make you rich*.
Nor is it to stop you from becoming rich.
Rather, it is to ensure that you don't have to BE rich to be a full member of the community, with:
- physical safety
- economic stability
- democratic participation.

So Russian interference in 2016 AND climate change are just as real as this shutdown. ;-)

Curious to see past uses and whether this characterization has legs among Rs in congress. I bet @dcinbox.bsky.social knows.

Yep, it's auto-translate, I assume by X. I don't know what "5-sec acceleration waveform" means either. (I have a guess, but I'm pretty sure it's wrong.)

This is excellent. Anyone have an English translation of the main dashboard items?

... most notably, Tiger Kaitlyn Chen graduated then went to UCONN to win a nat'l title playing w/ Paige. But Akron has a player now at his 3rd school. Come on. Ivy hoops are better then ever, but can they compete with this semi-pro roster-building? Sigh.

Anyway, we're home against Bucknell on Tues.

... with a 104-69 loss to the Akron Zips. The Tiger roster has NO seniors. In the blowout loss (which was 13-13 6 minutes in), Pton had 5 players get their first points ever.

What does it mean? A lot of Ivy players used the portal when Covid screwed up their eligibility ...

I don't know what to make of this. More respect for Pierce, who wanted to graduate where he started, but it's clear that NIL Collectives (the Ivies don't have them) and easy transfers have changed the very meaning of college sports. And so, the 25-26 season began yesterday ...
November 10, 2025 at 5:42 AM
After 24-25 ended, Lee went to the Portal & transferred to Florida, where he now starts at point for the defending national champions. In July, Pierce decided to sit out this season, graduate from Princeton, and take his last year of eligibility to go for a ring somewhere else ...

As a sophomore, Pierce was Ivy POTY. As a Junior, XL was turning heads w/ Pton's first triple double and a bunch of last second game-winners. So this was going to be their Senior year -- both healthy, the field wide open ... omg!

And then ...

And thus does the Democrats' best week of the year end with a split caucus and millions of alienated D voters.

Schumer: Resign as leader.

Spot on. The purpose of the Shut it Down option is to halt our consumerism so that corporations demand policy changes. As hard as boycotts and strikes are, they are probably more effective than trying to sway Dem leadership. Meanwhile, the ICE-CBP atrocities continue.

I'm seeing 3 broad strategies to get us to Nov 2026:
1. Gut it out. Everything Gregg lists below is essentially here. Maybe it's enough if we get some wins soon. Maybe not.
2. Take up arms. Violent. Let's avoid this.
3. Shut it down. Basically a general strike to get corporations to demand change.
