This series of #BlueLights has been great, but this minute of TV is exceptional, and the drone shot to hand held is sublime. When one-shot was used in Adolescence I think we were all primed for it, but here I think it ups the jeopardy and adrenaline of the scene. 10/10.

The view from the top of Ben Lomond today. Of course, it brightened up on my way down

For viewers across the UK, do yourself a favour and get BBC Two on now. All-Ireland final day and you’ve the chance to see the fastest sport on grass. Cork v Tipperary is one of the massive heavyweight clashes in sport. Try it, you won’t be disappointed

Absolutely brutal day of work recently at the Guide Dogs national centre. Sad to say I wasn’t able to save our cameraman from getting savaged (licked)

Best thing about this time of year is light for photos. This is like looking down on the northern lights but eh.. sadly it’s just algae in a Glasgow pond

A few images from droning around after a week at home in Ireland. Some new builds, some old builds, some rubble.

Just take 30 seconds to enjoy a 500-year old castle keep, amid the rolling hills of Carlingford and Warrenpoint

Briefly back at home in Ireland for a week. Fired the drone up to see a bridge being built between NI and ROI that must have taken roughly 30 years to get over the line. Every time I come home there’s something else changed and it’s really great to see sometimes

So what does it mean for key services, like healthcare? Scottish Care's Dr Donald MacAskill says "Social care is not a cost, it's an economic driver to revitalise these communities. Once social care disintegrates, then you get the school closing, then the community shop."

Mull & Iona Community Trust are building, with the help of Council and Scot Gov money. "In many cases it'll give (key workers) a toe-hold. If they can't come here, they'll never find a place to live," says MICT's manager, Moray Finch

Local landowner, Tom Nelson, had some farm houses lying vacant. Noticing the issue with housing, he converted them, making 5 homes. "We had 45 applications for the 5 homes," he said, underlining the scale of the challenge in Mull. He's not the only one trying to address the issue

"I think we need a miracle," says Rebecca MacLennan, a charity worker in Mull. She and her family spent years in a small flat, another family who struggled with Scotland's rural housing crisis. She works with young families and says housing always comes up in conversation

Have to say, what a place

Enjoying a bit more drone flying, this time around the Doulton Fountain in Glasgow Green. Designed in 1887, but something I've never looked at in detail until now. Also, the People's Palace which is getting refurbished and the old carpet factory/West Brewery, where you get Glasgow's best beer

For some reason, there is a seat dedicated to Elvis Presley in the Glasgow Film Theatre. Sad to report this seat is not upholstered with blue suede.

Really enjoying catching up on #TheTraitors (no spoilers please) but with that huge production budget, you're telling me they only found one bird sound effect that's repeated every episode?!

I've been in New Zealand for three days and learned that:

a) the beer is good, very good
b) Despite being Irish, I can cope pretty well in the sun and
c) where you're allowed to fly a drone, it becomes an absolute treat

To connect with my heritage, I've been taking weekly Irish lessons in Glasgow and testing out the dreaded Duolingo. I was excited for the app's "Talk About Ireland" lessons. Would I talk about my town or learn to describe our stormy history? Eh... No. The mention of bogs was relentless

A 30 second timeline cleanse here. The morning after the stormy day before, a Calmac ferry leaving a very still #Oban harbour #Scotland

A snowy train journey up to #Oban this morning. Stunning scenery.

What a beast of an album, finally getting my hands on a #vinyl copy of "GANGS" by NI's premier post-rockers, ASIWYFA. The album that was essential listening as I moved from school to university, very glad it's been reissued #nowspinning
