Finally unfollowed the last two accounts on Twitter (local Police and City Council) and deactivated my own account. No point being there any more, and the shit they're pulling with #grok is appalling!

Exhausting day prepping #fogproject for imaging for 60+ classroom laptops. Ipxe kernel panics not helping me achieve an early get-away. Hopefully Monday morning brings positive results.

Surprisingly calm here in #bath. Bit blowy and wet overnight, but very little rain or wind this morning. No reports of downed trees, and buses running normally. I’m heading into Bristol today. Wish me luck.

A bit wet and blowy tonight. Stay indoors and warm. #stormgoretti

So, tonight’s bus home was actually warmer than our office today. Apparently the heating system at work failed to reset to occupied temperature levels after the holiday, so we spent most of the day in our coats. Hopefully it’ll be warmer tomorrow.

Back to work today, prepping for a software update and 60 classroom computer re-imaging. Then, next week, I’ve got to check and update 24 industrial control system teaching boxes and 20 IoT collections for our next set of #CyberSecurity lessons. 🤓

In education, everything is cyclical.

Finally got to the cinema to watch #zootropolis2 (UK title), and we loved it! 🥰 A fast-paced sequel to the first movie. Lots of hidden and not so hidden pop culture and movie references (there are lots of Kubrick fans at #Disney). Surprising number of adults in the room too. If you get a chance […]

We’re looking after our neighbour’s cat, Inky, for a couple of days. We’re supposed to be feeding him at his own house, but he’s made himself at home here this evening. #notmycat 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

I want to shake the hand of the person at M&S who asked suppliers for zips on #duvet covers. Thank you. 🫡

A great talk about #hi / #ui / #ux design by expert Scott Jenson. He talks about why getting the processes behind UX-driven design right is everything... The pretty bit always comes last.

Spent hours troubleshooting a very slow #dell laptop with no battery visible in the OS system tray and no way to charge it up or update the firmware (‘cause the battery was flat). 🪫

The bloody CMOS battery was dead! 😵 You can’t do anything to fix a machine with a dead CMOS until you replace […]

"That invisibility has created a misconception, in some quarters, that #rss is a relic. But the opposite is true: we’ve never relied on it more. And as the social web fractures, as platforms wall off content, and as AI agents begin remixing everything they can ingest, our dependence on neutral […]

I quite like the new branding for #GreatBritishRailways. It’s quirky and colourful, much like its passengers.

The more I think about it, them more I feel the time is right for a completely new mobile phone operating system based on Linux. Something to take significant market-share away from Apple and Google. Those two have gotten too complacent, and they no longer care about their users.

Just finished watching the last ever episode of #ResidentAlien. All plot point neatly tied up, emotional farewells, and an incredibly satisfying ending.

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Alan Tudyk and Sara Tomko led a wonderful and eclectic cast in this comedy drama. 🎭 I’m gonna miss sitting […]

Wishing I’d never upgraded to #iOS26. Buggy as hell, and obviously designed by a blind person with no talent.

I’ve been watching Mona’s videos of #Japan for a long time, but this one showed me a surprisingly laid-back and relaxed side of the country I wasn’t expecting. #negano looks like an ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of cities like Tokyo. 🗾
