Did you know that empathy is a learnable skill, not a character trait?
Research shows that just 10% of our empathy is genetic, the other 90% is learnt through social and environmental factors - and it can be developed at any age!

If you want to stop funding everything Amazon does and stands for, you’ve come to the right place.

The Light in Everything is my favourite Katya Balen book
October, October by Katya Balen. I love the lyrical language and the connection to nature. Stunning cover, too.

Mr Magnolia by Quentin Blake remains fav pic bk. if I have Glasgow Boys by @margaretmcdonald.bsky.social as novel I can count The Final Year by Matt Goodfellow and Joe Todd-Stanton as poetry and then Illegal by Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin as GN
Great idea. I assume you mean one novel, one picturebook, one poetry book and one graphic novel. Today's choices...

My single piece of parenting/teaching advice is read stories to your children every day and don't stop when they can read by themselves. It will develop empathy, build their confidence, increase their vocabulary and spark their imaginations. You're basically helping them to fly.

Happy #WorldBookDay to all our members, friends and partners celebrating everything about #books and #reading! It's the perfect opportunity to showcase how you can use your school library to help children and young people join the fun and discover reading! #schoollibraries #lovereading

If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.
