If your pet does not like fireworks, NOW is the time to get medication from your veterinarian or stock up on your natural meds. DON'T WAIT!
Some considerations:
#BePrepared
1. Per Federal prescribing law, your veterinarian MUST have done a physical exam within the year. Inquiring about meds now gives you more time to get in for an appointment. 2. All drugs have side effects. They are metabolized by the liver, kidneys, or both. If your pet is older and/or has chronic medical conditions, lab work may be required to ensure it is safe to give your pet certain medications. 3. Not every drug is going to work for every pet. If the medication prescribed doesn't sufficiently sedate your pet, your veterinarian is not trying to waste your money. Every pet is an individual with individual sensitivities. But don't despair, there's a wide variety of medications to try. Your veterinarian will just try the ones that work for most pets first. 4. In general, it takes more medication to sedate a pet after they are stressed than beforehand. So do your best to administer their medication *before* the fireworks start. It is also a good idea to try the meds out ahead of time to get an idea on how they will react. 5. More pets go missing around the 4th of July than any other time of year. Make sure your pet's microchip information is up to date, with recent pictures on their microchip profile. PSA If your dog is afraid of fireworks TODAY is the day to call your Veterinarian Not July 3rd

It rained all 7 days I was in Switzerland last week, with multiple days where I was literally in the clouds and couldn't see a thing (it felt like being on a plane).

But the weird weather did create some cool moments like this one, so it was totally worth it. #photography
