Farmer, former Vermont State Rep, Senator, & Lt. Governor. Always fighting for progressive change and now, more than ever, democracy.
The "Flood the Red Zone" campaign takes the message of taxing the rich directly to working-class voters.
Their goal: ensuring politicians focus on policies that benefit all Americans, not just the ultra-wealthy. A fairer economy is a stronger democracy. 🇺🇸 #SaveAmerica

Why are millionaires demanding higher taxes on themselves? Because money is money.
Investment income (wealth, rich people) should be taxed at the same rate as labor income (wages, workers). That's what the Equal Tax Act (H.R. 5336) is designed to do. #TaxFairness

Vermonters deserve real solutions. We need fair, progressive taxation and meaningful investment in our schools. What we don’t need are political cover-ups or austerity disguised as reform. #vtpoli

This isn’t about fixing property taxes. It’s about shifting the burden onto students and working families while protecting the wealthy

He’s raiding the Education Reserve Fund, cutting universal school meals, and pushing consolidation schemes that silence communities and shut down schools.

We need a real opposition. But when nearly 20% of the Democratic caucus failed to act at a pivotal moment, it’s beyond disappointing. It’s outrageous. #vtpoli #vthealthcare #vermont #savethesubstidies

While Trump and his allies celebrate economic devastation, they rake in trillions through tax cuts and shady deals. Meanwhile, ordinary people suffer.

Let’s be clear: the root of this crisis lies with President Trump and his sycophants. Those who once opposed him now bend to his every whim. It’s reprehensible.

This decision is bad policy and bad politics. And the Democratic Party wonders why trust is eroding.
November 10, 2025 at 5:36 PM
What’s worse? The Democrats who voted for this aren’t up for re-election in 2026. They know voters have short memories. Their vulnerable colleagues—and the party—will pay the price.

But now, those hopes have been dashed. Again.

Some said the message was moderate. Others said it was progressive. Either way, it was a landslide. Voters demanded change. They believed Democrats would stand with working people.

Small schools aren’t the cost drivers. Let BOCES work. Share resources. Buy in bulk. Fix healthcare costs. Shift mental health funding to Human Services. #SmartSavings #vtpoli #datadrivenpolicy

The process feels rushed. The Administration hasn’t provided the data to justify these changes. We need transparency and real numbers before making big decisions.

My remarks and others were met with strong support. Vermonters are fed up. Taxes are too high — and the burden falls hardest on working & middle-class families

People spoke passionately about their small schools and the value of local choice — especially in non-operating districts. These communities matter

The Governor’s claim of $180M/year in savings from school consolidation? Most attendees didn’t buy it. Many pointed out rising costs elsewhere would cancel out any savings.

The Pope also understood that we are integrally connected to our planet and that we must take steps to decrease our impact on this sphere we call earth.

“It’s hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of help… If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I’m a hypocrite.”

“To live charitably means not looking out for our own interests, but carrying the burdens of the weakest and the poorest among us.”
“I ask you to ensure that humanity is served by wealth and not ruled by it.”
