The Baltimore Sports Gods giveth (O’s Saturday night)… the Baltimore Sports Gods taketh away… and honestly, as someone from Atlanta… I ain’t even mad about this one.
Made a side-trek stop today on the way back from Cincinnati… the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. It is haunting to relive a day that reshaped us as a Nation. We can never go back to the World of 9/10/2001… though we try every September. All we can do is move forward.

The Walker/Walton family legacy… the former homes of my grandparents & where my parents & sisters lived prior to their fateful move to Georgia in the Summer of ‘69. It was good to see these places again & to introduce my wife & kids to these places.

I now have the “trump card” whenever somebody demands that we should show respect to our National Anthem… chances are, many non-Marylanders making that demand have never been here.

Learned something new today: successfully changed the battery in the remote key fob of my Toyota RAV4. My wife will be pleased since she will have to drive my SUV on Saturday, while her new SUV goes for a recall visit.

This USA-Canada #4Nations Round Robin Game was incredible. High emotions before the opening face-off, 3 fights in the first 9 seconds, McDavid with a filthy opening goal, but Team USA wore down Canada & their fans in Montreal. Hoping for the rematch on Thursday.

I am grateful that we are done with the main shopping, decorating, & work for Christmas. Now, my family can focus on getting our church ready for Christmas Eve.

I was reminded this evening why Dec. 18-24 is the worst “week” for driving in the United States. Rush hour traffic intermixed with people going to Holiday parties/concerts & people doing shopping equals driving insanity. Stay alert & watch for people making illegal turns.
