Advocating for annual general elections is my mission on earth.

I live on Whadjuk Noongar boodjar in Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺

(In 1899 we were the third place in the world to give the vote to women. After Aotearoa New Zealand, then South Australia)

Attached is my own "holy of holies". As a pacifist, I swoon at the symbolism. As opposed to the Ten Commandments, the laws discerned by democratic processes can be eternally updated. What’s good for our parent's generation may not be for this generation. This to me is the living spirit of love.

I’m still hoping we can evolve past Zoroastrian & Manichean duality of light & dark, or good & evil.

I continue to hold high hopes for the two-party democratic processes.

If we are to live in The Age of Reason ipso facto we MUST live in The Age of Dispute. We can have opposing yet valid answers.

Two songs come to mind:

Big Yellow Taxi:- Don’t it always seem to go, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

Me & Bobby McGee:- Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.

The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance?

Here’s my pacifist Holy of Holies - I swoon over this symbolism!

As someone who declares modern representative democracy as their “true religion” (in the Latin sense of ‘religio’) I have to disagree.

I would not want to ban minor parties, but I think democracy works best when there is a Government and an Official & encouraged Opposition.

Many forget the word “religion” simply means “bonding” — i.e. what is it that bonds us to each other?

I am a strongly convinced Friend, because of Quaker processes. It is my “spiritual community”.

But my “true religion” is modern representative democracy.

As a pacifist this is my holy of holies!
