Not necessarily. In the 80s, the Northern Line was notoriously dirty and unreliable, so even if you didn’t use it regularly, Londoners would recognise a reference to it as meaning ‘a bit rubbish’ — a contrast to the glamorous Moscow metro. So it could be ‘just’ a cultural reference 🤷🏻♂️

We like turkey, but were lucky to have a family member who reared some, specially for family and friends. Once that was no longer available, like you, I opt for a rib of beef, and have done so for some years.

An old friend attended the City of London School when it was located at its previous site north of Blackfriars Bridge. Not only did they have termly fire-drills, they also had annual flood drills. This was before the Barrier was completed. Maybe they’ll have to reinstate them at the new location 😳
