I don’t think it’s an outright criticism of conservatism, though it does satirize it rather severely. There’s a sort of background villain that is sowing discord through the internet and the media. A sinister force lurks in the background and profits from the sociopolitical divide in #Eddington.

I really, really enjoyed the movie, but it suffers from an unbalanced tone, poorly conceived villain, sloppy technical execution, and out-of-place jokes.
