Dear Spotify, what about listening to an entire live Radiohead album makes you think that I'm open to listen to any other band when it's done? Take the hint.

The great thing about the user interface of new Windows OSes is that it levels the playing field for old and new users alike. I've been using Windows (and even MS-DOS) for around 30 years and Win 11 feels so unfamiliar it may as well have been Linux.

It only took me 13 years (and having seen them live at Rock-a-Field in Luxembourg), but I'm finally into #alt-j.
Like books and films, I do believe that the #music will find you when you're ready for it.

I like how not-shit @bsky.app is, but I wonder how many users from smaller countries like me are affected by the lack of engagement. All the posts I'm suggested/shown are from the UK or the US.

Woke up with a hankering for Nickelback and pastizzi. I know they're supposed to be bad for you, but the stuff is well-crafted and hits the spot.

Facebook is penalising our page for sharing news about Gaza and Lebanon.

It's gotten so bad, we've been forced to self-censor.

When will social media algorithms be made accountable to the societies they shape?

Important question: given that this isn't Twitter, is this still considered a tweet?

My hot take on new social media networks is that people are somewhat happy they don't have to keep up with an old service that is now shitty, and will somehow be more reluctant to join a new one, particularly if it still doesn't have the critical mass the old one had.
