A great evening as I got to watch Kieslowski’s excellent film Blind Chance and upon finishing that, came to see that Radu Jude answered my question on his Reddit AMA! #filmsky

First read of the year is La Bête Humaine by Émile Zola.

My first dip into French literature and thoroughly enjoying it. #booksky

Enjoyed my first few Jia films, but Platform and this have both fallen a bit flat for me personally.

You can tell I watched all the Neon Genesis Evangelion films last year. Erland Josephson sitting in 2nd place at least.

Book number 2 for the year is complete. A fascinating read into the life of Serge Gainsbourg, a man who’s music I was somewhat familiar with (Melody) but whose notoriety, fame and character always intrigued me. Especially after seeing the clip of the boys serenading him over and over. #booksky

Was a nice Christmas morning receiving these books, all high on the read list and already half way through the first one by Malsagov. Gainsbourg or Mishima next is the big dilemma. #booksky

It’s been a busy week for films. A lot of comfort time rewatches but also some new bits.

Was really surprised by Run Lola Run which I thought was going to be something very different to what it was, and in particular was elevated by its editing style. #filmsky
