Completely wild. I think even G/O Media would have been a better company to get latched to than Valnet, and that's saying something.

Shout out to everyone who told me Biden couldn’t fire DeJoy.

This is easily—EASILY—the best thing to ever happen to me on Al Gore's internet.

Thank you Mr. @wdmbox.bsky.social for your encouragement. I will do my very best to keep going 💪

Absolutely devastating. Gordon was an absolute force and an incredible influence for my decades-plus career in tech journalism.

Was literally about to start working on a new PC build the other day, and thought of him. :\

btw, g/o media decided kotaku writers wouldn’t be allowed to write their personal game of the year lists because despite them historically doing great traffic, the company doesn’t want you to see kotaku’s writers as people. so here’s what mine would have been:

Trying to find time to do that whole "how to find everyone you liked on X, but here" thing.

I forgot to post on here, not the other place, that G/O Media sucks.

Well. Uh. They suck. And the fact that they think they're a "leading technology company" makes me want to AI-generate an article with the topic "how far up your body can you stick your own head, via the ass"

Anyone have any recommendations for migrating Twitter follows over to here? I'm trying the Sky Follower Bridge extension, but it's going to take... some time. :D

PC-upgrading update: going back in to muck with cable management (and fix a fan). I might then post a picture of this power-sucking monstrosity, which has at least allowed me to eliminate rubber-banding in Diablo IV.

I had a dream the other night that I was building this in a cardboard-box case.

People are learning a lot of things about accessibility as Reddit's disability communities, especially r/blind, protest the API changes. You can read my overview of what that actually means for users...

Why disabled users joined the Reddit blackout
Subreddits like r/blind are small, but their concerns loom large over the protest.

Build update: Need to buy an ARGB extension cable, since my case's built-in one will never, ever reach to the slot it needs to use on my motherboard.

Also need to adjust a CPU cooler fan. And mayyyybe deal with some cable management. Hurrrgghhh.
