Happy to support @ndp.ca with a monthly donation but continue to be disappointed at their outreach and engagement messages and processes.

This is a small example.

A short visit to their site shows a villification of Carney that could just as easily come from PP and the Cons.

Do better, y'all.

People are pissed and only going to become more so...

The Jamaican Government has set up a portal for people wanting to provide support supportjamaica.gov.jm

This is the situation at one of the private hospitals in Kingston, a location far less affected than other parts of the island. Many people and places are facing much more damage. #Melissa

A portion of the Montego Bay airport. The main tourist airport on the island

[video pans through a room full of airport-style seating, there are a couple of inches of water on the floor. The ceiling has caved in in spots, releasing debris onto the floor. Water is coming in from above.]

At least one of my relatives in Kingston has their electricity back, and cellphone service! Both incredible given that this is what is happening in other parts of Jamaica.

This video has been making the rounds. I was told it is from St Elizabeth, 2.5 hours ago.

The storm is at its worst there.

Folks in Kingston have escaped this, for now, and hopefully completely.

[Video is from Tik Tok showing a house and its surroundings being battered by intense wind and rain.]

My people!

The Jamaican Government and sources such as Mr. Weatherman on YouTube are making clear that Jamaicans have never experienced a hurricane like this. Melissa's slow pace is why she will be so devastating, and why her landfall has been postponed.

This afternoon's hike in Sherwood Park in Toronto. [Video pans up into the crowns of large trees in a mature, mostly deciduous, forest showing peak fall colours.]

On a seed collecting workshop at Toronto Botanical Gardens with Toronto Master Gardeners and some of the beds are gorgeous in terms of fall interest right now.

12.5 mg Jardiance (I split my dose), 500 mg metformin, and a half hour walk means that even after a large dinner heavy on carbs my 2-hour postprandial test result is good! I don't eat a meal like that often anymore but I was being entertained. Walking after meals makes a huge difference. #Diabetes

Between whiplash and other soreness from my fall last Friday, and what I am hoping is just an immunization reaction to yesterday's Covid shot, I feel like hell physically (thank goodness that so far mentally I am okay). Had to assume the grounded position in therapy today and wanted to share 😄.

A close up from my walk this morning (sadly I had to photo from a distance as it was behind a fence and gate).

It's impossible for me to name a single favorite plant or flower, but Dahlias are definitely in the top ten! This one was pretty impressive.

I'm almost done my walk home from dropping off our vehicle at my staff person's house, and we'll need to get to work once I get back to my desk.

Need to clear my palate from politics so I thought I would share this gorgeous Dahlia that I passed on my way.

The heads are almost 6 inches across.

The sociopolitical situation is such that going through a 2008-style financial crisis again may land differently.

I was looking forward to a better weekend than the week that I've had. Unfortunately, this hammock swung out from behind me and I fell and hit my head and elbow against the wall (one of those hidden disabilities, constant vestibular disequilibrium, certainly didn't help). So, new challenges. Grrrrr.

This soul is not a bot or a fake account but a real person, trying to hold down a job and a career.

And as much as the question rankles me, I am much more upset by the fact that his boss set him up for this, and either imagined it was a good idea, or allowed it to proceed. WTAF

We have been having incredible fall weather in Toronto. Went for a walk in Sherwood Park with a friend today. It is a spectacular walk in the fall when the leaves start turning. They have barely started. I left my phone behind but I asked my friend to take this pic.
