I ran across this white thistle in the woods a few years back. It was just a quick snap on my phone but is one of my favorite photos that I've ever taken.

In southwest Michigan there is a state game area known as Purgatory. It's roughly five thousand acres of land for hunting that is open to the public. Lots of woods, old dirt roads, trails, streams, marshes, and steams. I stumbled across this one day wandering through woods there.

I dabble in odds and ends in art. Digital, traditional, wood carving among others. Here's a staff a carved a few years ago and gifted to my sister. Hoping to start a new one soon. My brother in law holding for scale.

I love Michigan summer sunsets. I Miss hearing the Robin's singing as the sun sets.
