A theology that has nothing to say to the the richest men causing death and destruction to the poorest and most vulnerable people, while creating pathways to secure more wealth and power for themselves, is useless in seeking God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

One of the biggest blotches of modern Christianity is its impulse to reduce the prophet to a greasy guy telling you about your future. We need to recapture the term for what it is. Here’s theologian Walter Brueggerman for you:
