Saddening that Sabine Weyand is not allowed to deal directly with this buffoon.

Very interesting, thanks. Other than the very recent developments, I wonder how economists explain the significant reduction of the trade deficit since (roughly) 2023. Just TDIs and 'normalisation' of EU energy prices, or what else is at work here?

A pleasure to speak to DW News about the 🇪🇺 response to Trump's tariff letter to the 🇪🇺, with a message for my fellow Germans:

"It is crucial that 🇩🇪 now fully understands that the best possible outcome can only be achieved through a language of strength and determination to impose countermeasures."

A pleasure speaking on Deutsche Welle live television about the Trump trade war disaster this morning. The upshot: It is hard to overestimate the damage the US President has done to himself and his country over the last ten days, leaving him under severe pressure at home and internationally.

USTR is taking aim at CBAM and EUDR as an unfair trade practice.

Analysis done by the Climate Leadership Council shows that CBAM actually benefits US exporters relative to competitors. clcouncil.org/blog/project...

Trump with a shaky voice as he goes through this list. Seemingly knows that he just formed a very powerful coalition of adversaries.
