Some kids should be adopted. But there is a legal system of near infant trafficking in this country. Even worse are government child protection agencies that place kids in foster care (again, sometimes appropriately) with a plan to try to reunify with parents, but are de facto pipelines to adoption.

I don’t do criminal work, but I think I accurately consider myself a public defender. I am court-appointed counsel for parents in juvenile cases in L.A. County. My clients: 95% poor and by far the greatest proportion are people of color. Role is mostly the same, just a different practice area.

I have defended parents in a number of these cases. Yes, parents do abuse babies. Is every infant brain injury caused by shaking or other violence? Definitely not. This is debunked pseudoscience.

Let's be clear about what happened yesterday in McArthur park. This was not just a handful of ICE agents. It was more than 100 federal agents and federally-appropriated national guardsmen. Guns, masks, horses, and armored vehicles.

Don't think that just because No Kings Day was uplifting that you can just go back to normal life, or that opposition is over. Our country is now run by violent, oppressive racists. We are not that different now from Blackshirt Italy in the 1920s, or Brownshirt Germany in the 1930s. Stand up.

It was tense in Maywood and Bell as ICE/CBP and multiple local police agencies confronted protesters and local residents vocalizing their anger at ICE/CBP violently arresting individuals and a protester.

Wow, this is big. California (where I work as court-appointed counsel for parents) routinely starts cases based on completely anonymous, unsubstantiated allegations.

ICE is cocking assault rifles and pointing them at civilians. This happened in Pico Rivera this morning.
